One of the most critical issues facing technical discipline ladies visiting the fields has been wearing the standard company coverall
ADCO recently is experiencing an increase in the number of its female staff who are employed in engineering and technical disciplines and for whom site visits are essential for their career development.
One of the most critical issues facing technical discipline ladies visiting the fields has been wearing the standard company coverall. ADCO has always provided its employees with comprehensive safety equipment (including personal protection equipment), safety courses and procedures and safe system of work, to undertake routine and non-routine activities in a safe manner. However, the standard company coverall was not suitable for local ladies taking in to consideration the religious and traditional constrains.
ADCO has always endeavored to improve its HSE performance and protect its staff who are the company's most valuable resource. To further this objective, as well as to remove any obstacles that will jeopardize the career development of females, a committee was assigned by the GM on 10th of October 2008, with the objective of looking into possibilities of developing a suitable wear for females to meet ADCO's safety requirements and at the same time be acceptable by the country's religious and cultural standards and in line with the UAE customs which we all respect and follow.
The committee reviewed the current coverall designs in the oil and gas industry and in other sister companies. A survey and field trial, to choose the most suitable coverall among different designs and options were also conducted. The committee then obtained the endorsement of Religious and Safety authorities and Management approval for the proposed design.
